Gateway laptop will not power on?
When I press the power button, the fan comes on and all the lights do too. But after in the region of 3-5 seconds, everything just shuts right final off. Any suggestions what could be going on? I had the laptop right at 12 months when this happen. Of course, the warranty ran out 3 days before! Any serve appreciated!

this seems to be a hardware problem, my suggestion would be to pop the battery out, and if you unscrew up one of the panels, you should have access to the CMOS battery-operated (looks like an oversized watch battery). Pop that out as capably. Wait a few minutes, put the CMOS battery back contained by, plug the laptop in (leave the laptop battery out) and try turning it on. If that works, pop the laptop's mobile back in and hope it still works
Sometimes some settings achieve screwed up for one reason or another, that'll clear up any of those. And occasionally the laptop battery will end in problems.
