We bought the battery through BrainyDeals, and at first thought that we'd ordered the wrong item. But the customer service folks at BrainyDeals were most helpful and very pleasant to deal with. And they explained that the battery would slightly protrude from the back of the laptop, which is not a problem at all. The combination of product, price, and service be excellent.

This product is a great substitute for the real DELL battery. Just make sure the numbers are the same on the back as your original DELL product. I have an Insprion 1521 with a 6-cell and this 9-cell battery works great contained by it for less than half the cost of the DELL 6-cell. It did not blow up or fry anything, just be sure your watt and other numbers are same as battery you purchase. Try it and if not satisfied mfg will give full refund. I will definitely buy this mobile again.

I have an Inspiron 1525 that's almost 2 years old. The old 6-cell battery (M911G) had finally seen its last legs and was just lasting for 30 minutes or so. I read the reviews on the Dell certified replacements, and they were good for the 9-cell batteries, but not the 6-cells. Of course the price was extremely high, and I really didn't want to put that much into it. Having bought this product, I feel really good about my verdict. It is far more powerful than the old battery. In its prime, I think the old battery may have gotten 2 hours. When I installed this battery, it registered 3-4 hours at 82% power. Of course it depends upon how you're using the computer, but since receiving the battery I own charged it twice and probably used it for around 4 hours between charges each time--not a lot of videos or music--just typical web surfing and word processing. I'm running Vista, and for some reason it has a hard time calculating the battery time, and the numbers fluctuate depending upon what the processor is doing; still this isn't a big deal at adjectives. As noted in other reviews, the battery also sticks out from the back of the laptop by maybe 0.5"-1", and it's a little heavier. I think these trade offs are fair for the power difference. I also received the battery 3 business days sooner than estimated, which was suitable.

Do not purchase this item. I purchased this cause of the reviews I read. i have a dell inspiron and purchased this battery because my oem battery would no longer recharge. I now have a battery that will not charge so I still can only use my laptop when its plugged in. It be a total waste of money and I advise anyone thinking of purchasing this item to save there money.
I read an article saying not to buy any any non dell batteries cause there is something built in the rom that will not allow any non dell battery-operated to charge. So I guess the customer is forced to pay the outrageously high prices for a battery that will work. This is where dell gets us, we buy our laptops for cheap but they get us back on there short lasting overpriced battery.

This battery from Amazon is less than half the one you would purchase on the "Dell" site! It seems to be lasting longer between charges, compared to the original one from Dell! So far, all good!!

I ordered one of these and it arrived 2 days quicker than I expected. It fits perfectly in my Dell computer, but sticks out in the back a little as all extended life batteries do on these Dell's. It arrived at 96% charged. I am getting 3 more hours of life out of this battery-operated than the original battery Dell provided with my laptop.

I had great hopes for this at 7200mAh and a great price. However, after a night of charging, laptop didn't even know the battery was installed.

Very disappointed with the product.

Shipping was fast and well packed. Plugged the battery into the computer and it ran for hours. BUT, when it finally went deceased the computer would not recognize that any battery was installed and would not initiate a charge. We now had an expensive paperweight. After hours of research that I should have done before buying the battery, it turns out that Dell computers will only see Dell batteries. Some people didn't have this problem with their Dell computer but we did. So, we returned the item with no hassle from Amazon.

This aftermarket replacement battery pack was detected by my Dell Inspiron 1525 as a non-Dell battery and it would not charge it. I got an error something resembling...Not a genuine Dell battery and will not be charged. Just a word of caution that this might not be such a fool proof, drop in replacement.

I was able to swap out the old battery cells near the new cells, albeit with a lot of effort and some soldering, and it seems to be charging fine now that the Inspiron 1525 thinks its charging an OEM battery pack. My guess is that in that is something on the circuit board inside the OEM battery pack that indicates if it is a genuine Dell pack or not.

This battery works but physically it is not like the original battery. It protrudes out the back of the laptop. The seller did not show a picture like the one here so that the buyer could see what the mobile looks like.
