Dell Inspiron 7200mah 11.1v 9 Cell Replacement Battery Reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars IT FITS LIKE A GLOVE!!! June 3, 2009
I own a Dell Latitude D820 laptop (purchased 2006) and the "full coverage" warranty protection lasted through May 2009. Three days after the warranty expired, the factory battery failed - only the AC cord would run my laptop. Now that the unit was out of warranty, I felt it safe to buy an aftermarket battery (since replacing the Dell freestyle with an aftermarket would void warranty coverage).

I decided on the AGPTEK Super-Capacity Li-Ion battery for a direct replacement, ordered, and hoped for the best. You cannot tell the difference between the two batteries - it is a direct fit into the D820. The battery is holding about 3 1/2 hours of charge and the Wh rating is very comparable to the Dell freestyle. I highly recommend this as a direct replacement for the D820 (after the warranty has expired on your laptop).

Worked for 6 weeks and then died. The product description says one year warranty but Amazon does not accept returns after 30 days, and there is no manufacturer information on the battery so it look like a total rip for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dell replacement battery-operated April 10, 2010
I ordered a battery and it did function, but the battery indicator flashed yellow and it took forever to charge. I sent it back and they sent a replacement. Now I have no problems.

The replacement process was very good. The battery come with a return label and I was able to get the replacement sent to a different state. Good customer service from TechOrbits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long battery life, doesn't fit perfectly but well plenty April 20, 2009
I've been using this for about a month in my Dell Latitude D531. It doesn't fit perfectly, has a tendency to not latch in tightly. It latches in safe and sound, just not tight against the bottom of the laptop. If you hold the computer up, the latched end of the battery pack hangs about a sixteenth of an inch lower than it should. It's not an issue for me, it never loses contact and doesn't affect the useability of the pack or the computer. It lasts a long time, I get about 4-5 hours with this pack, depending on what I'm doing. It seem to be made with high quality cells. We'll see how well it lasts after a year or so of use, but for now I'm very pleased.

Update: Been using this battery pack day by day for a year and a half now. It's starting to show its age with a running time of about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. But it still outperforms the original Dell battery pack and I'm still very pleased with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Made my laptop portable again June 8, 2010
The original mobile for my Dell D830 gave up the ghost after 2-1/2 years of use. I was quite surprised to find a compatible replacement battery on Amazon for a fraction of the price that Dell was charging for their product. I calculated that if I could get even a few months of use out of it, then the battery would settle up for itself in savings. After three months of use, the battery is still going strong and I'm very happy with how it performs. Prior to purchasing this, my laptop would last less than 20 minutes beforehand reporting a low battery warning. Today I get at least three hours of typical use on a charge before I have to plug back in. I don't think I've even see the low battery warning more than once since I installed it.

The D830 is known to be easier on batteries than the D820 that preceded it. I believe the latter draws more current and/or runs hotter than even the original Dell batteries were designed for, causing a lot of users to be unbelievably unhappy when their batteries failed after less than a year. My wife's D820 went through three original (expensive) Dell batteries in the time that it took my D830 to chew through my first one. In short, if you have a D820, after you may save yourself a lot of frustration by retiring it in favor of a better laptop.

There seem to be several suppliers of this product and not all may be shipping the same quality product. Mine shipped out from BrilliantStore and the experience so far has been terrific.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worked great ... for the first month. Now, won't hold a charge. August 9, 2010
This battery-operated worked great out of the box -- it held its charge for the same amount of time as the Dell brand battery had when it was new. After about a month of use, the battery's ability to hold a charge declined significantly. Now at just lower than two months, it only holds 1/5th of the charge it originally held.

I have a Dell Latitude D830, and I take good care of my laptop batteries. I don't leave them in hot places, on the shelf, or continuously drain and recharge them. In other words, this battery go through minimal stress but still failed. Accordingly, based on my experience and the feedback of others on Amazon, I recommend that you should not purchase this battery.

1.0 out of 5 stars DOA September 11, 2009
Installed new battry into my 2 year old Dell D830 - not recognized. No charge status on the back. Very disappointing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor life April 30, 2010
Purchased the battery surrounded by October 2009 - fit perfectly and ran well. However the battery has now died in April and will not take a charge.

8 month life? Sorry, but will not buy again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Got a dud first time which added $8.70 to the price August 15, 2009
I enjoy a Dell D830 (purchased 1.75 years ago) & a Dell D820 laptop (purchased about 3.5 years ago). The batteries are interchangeable in these 2 and the old D820 battery has begun failing to hold charge so I bought the AGPTEK Super-Capacity Li-Ion battery. The battery arrived DOA, no status lights and neither Dell renowned it. I sent it back for $8.70 in postage and the replacement does work and so far is reporting a good charge: 3.5-4 hours in the Dell D830, which is about the same as the 1.5 year old battery reports. The replacement is only a month from produce if I read the code AGPTek pasted on it (it has 20090720 embedded in it), and both the dud and the replacement fit well in both my Dells. However with the cost of shipping the dead battery put a bet on this battery was not such a bargain.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dell D820 Compatibility February 19, 2010
Battery was not compatible with my Dell D820 laptop. The battery would not take a charge. The OEM battery worked fine. Returned unit for a full settlement.
