Dekcell Laptop Battery for Apple A1175, Apple Macbook Pro 15" Series Reviews

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Product... Poor Quality and Engineering March 20, 2010
I just got this yesterday and first thing I noticed when opening the package was, the plate that covered the battery was coming past its sell-by date. What a cheap piece of crap. I then installed it and charged the battery until it was fully charge. Then used the battery until it was drained (4 hours), then charged it again, and about the second charge, it didn't even charge anymore. This is what happened to my old battery-operated. that why I got a replacement for it. The indicator stated not charging. I tried everything to see what the heck happened, but I'm 100% sure that my battery is defected. I'm sending it in for replacement, but if it's still crappy, then I want my money back. DO NOT BUY!!!!
What a waste of money...

2.0 out of 5 stars battery cover separates October 4, 2009
As a previous reviewer mentioned, the mobile cover does separate from the battery. The battery (and its loose cover) stick out from the laptop, trying to catch on things and threatening to pull the cover off altogether. I don't believe it's worth saving the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars works as advertized January 3, 2010
computer batteries go. my original go, in its time.

this was a great replacement.

remember to season it; charge all the way, run it down, repeat two more times.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy December 4, 2009
I read the reviews and searched the net for a replacement battery for my Macbook Pro. The prices were all over the place from $50 to $130 and the reviews be all pretty much the same .... poor. So it seemed the prudent thing was to get a reasonably priced one and see what happened.
One of the objections that I read to this one be that the color wasn't a match for the case. Yes, if you turn the computer over and tilt it back and forth you can see the difference in the surface of the battery compared to the computer case. I don't know about you, but I seldom turn mine over to view the aesthetics, and so far no one here surrounded by the "look-at-me" city I live in has made a comment (though I am ready with a couple of snappy come backs.
But the important part is the fit and function. That seems as good as the innovative, which was what is to be expected from any battery. Function problems are usually more related to user care than manufacturer quality, so read and follow the guidelines and you can't go wrong with this one!

1.0 out of 5 stars worked for 5 weeks and then died November 7, 2009
Title says it adjectives - no complaints until it died without warning. Amazon was kind enough to issue a return/refund even though I was a week past the 30-day no-questions-asked return period.

I think I will run with genuine Apple for the replacement.

2.0 out of 5 stars Listen to the other poor reviews! March 31, 2010
I thought, "Oh, those bad reviews can't all be correct. I can save some bucks ordering this battery." But, just like others hold said, the battery's cover comes off (literally becomes unglued), exposing the inside of the device. Mine completely fell apart and couldn't be fixed earlier this evening, less than five months from when I bought it. Very poor manufacturing to be sure. Get a different one - that's what I'm doing on Amazon right...now.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very low quality product. October 16, 2010
I have had this freestyle for little more than a year now. The battery had stopped charge-discharge cycles within 6 months of purchase. Today it literally fell apart when I lifted my laptop. The top plate came off and I had a chance to look at what is inside. It seem like somebody in their garage put together all components of the battery. Circuit has many solder marks, a box where cathode and anode are packed is wrapped near tape to hold everything together and to make snug fit with the battery box. all parts are glued with cheap glue or tape.

I wouldn't buy freestyle from this seller again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product for a lower price January 2, 2010
Battery arrived quickly, a day before the first delivery estimate date! Like other reviewers have commented about knock-off replacement batteries mine doesn't sit flush with the bottom of my MacBook, but for me it with the sole purpose sticks out a fraction of a millimeter, and yes the color doesn't match exactly (although it is really close). The important thing is that it charges up to (and over) 5000 mAh like it should and interacts with OSX just like a regular Apple certified battery while costing a whole lot smaller number :-)

2.0 out of 5 stars A definite do not buy. September 29, 2008

A quick sidenote: This review is merely for the product, and does not reflect the seller at all.

While you will look at this battery and think, "Wow, I can save $35 or so..." Don't... If anything goes wrong next to the battery you cannot simply contact Apple for a replacement.

Pros: The battery has a good run-time, and is a dead ringer for the apple battery it replaces.

Cons: Poor manufacturing process allows the metal cover to separate from the rest of the battery housing. In my case, this took smaller quantity than 6 months to happen under casual use. At this point the battery is bulging out of the housing, and the manufacturer (Dekcell) does not return requests for information on how to exchange the defective device.
